You found your brand photographer and booked your brand photoshoot – YAY!!!!! But now a new question arises: what do I wear? You know that the clothes you wear can say a lot about you and your brand and seriously impact your first impression. They’re like a visual handshake to potential clients, hinting at your personality and brand identity.
So, let’s dive into some tips to ensure your photoshoot wardrobe is fire!
1. Embrace Variety
Planning to use these brand photos for months, or even a whole year? So, I encourage you to consider bringing a variety of outfits. Think about the different types of content you create and choose outfits that complement each theme.
2. Focus on Fit
There’s nothing worse than feeling restricted or uncomfortable during your shoot. So, my advice is always to wear clothes that fit, regardless of the number on the label! Avoid buying clothes in the size they “should” be, otherwise, you’ll realize your closet is full of items that don’t allow you to feel confident.
3. Consider Your Colors
When assembling your brand wardrobe, aim to incorporate colors and aesthetics related to your brand. Does this mean you have to wear ALL your brand colors? Nope!
Use a color wheel tool like Adobe Color to find complimentary shades that give you more outfit options.
4. How many outfits do I need?
It depends on your photoshoot package! For shorter sessions (around 2.5 hours, such as my ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE), 3 different outfits are usually enough. But for a Half-Day session with multiple locations (check out my ELEVATE EXPERIENCE), I recommend bringing 6-8 outfits. Think seasonally to create fresh content that lasts throughout the year.
And don’t forget to accessorize! A blazer you can easily swap on and off, a fun hat, statement sunglasses, or a cute purse can completely transform an outfit, giving you more variety in your final photos.
3 Must-Have Brand Session Looks
1 – Go To Workday
What’s your go-to outfit for client consultations, zoom calls, or your workday?
What can your potential clients expect when they meet you in person?
Replicate that look and try to stick to your brand color palette and choose pieces that make you feel comfortable and confident all day long.
2- Chiq Boss
This is your elegant and professional look! You don’t need to be a corporate brand to impress your audience with a more elevated image.
Every woman likes dressing up and feeling confident and empowered. So, why not embrace this in your
session?
Don’t be afraid to elevate your brand with a touch of sophistication! This is your chance to rock those heels and experiment with different textures and fabrics. Think edgy leather, classy cashmere, bold patterns, or luxurious faux fur.
3- Everyday YOU
Let’s not forget about your authentic self! Think about your Personal Brand outside of the work. Grab that outfit you wear on the weekends or for casual outings!
This might not match your brand or business, but it’s authentic to who you are in all contexts.
For example, if you’re a woman normally wearing a suit, but outside the office, you wear yoga pants or jeans + shirt, showcase those looks too. This creates recognition and shows your audience another side of YOU!
The right wardrobe is key to creating captivating photos that reflect your personality and brand. But remember, the most important ingredient is confidence!
